Don’t Let Things Go Unsaid: Thoughts from the Boston Tragedy

I know that almost everyone is going to be blogging about the tragic bombing that happened at the Boston Marathon yesterday, but mine is a message of thinking of the ones you love. I know there isn’t a single person that went to the marathon thinking that they may not go home. I mean it is a joyous occasion, why would anyone think that?

Someone out there put the actions in place to injure and take love ones away. I don’t know the purpose of the plot and I’m sure the person or group who took out this attack will be brought to justice. It just takes me back to the thought that you should always tell the ones you love that you love them everyday. You never know what can happen on a day to day basis. The world is a crazy place.

As someone who has faced a deployment before, there are times when you know that you might not make it back. So many things can go unsaid. That is one reason why I tell my daughter and my wife that I love them everyday. There are so many outlets to talk to family and friends these days, there is no reason for them to not know how you feel. Not everyone says the words, but actions can show just as loud as words.

Tell your family you love them, tell your friends you love them. Heck even tell that wacky person you meet at the coffee shop you enjoy their company, even if they look at you funny afterward. You just never know what might happen.

Lets all share in a moment of silence for those that lost their lives and for those that were injured and suffering because of this heinous act.
