The Soyuz TMA-05M Rocket launched from Kazakhstan on July 14, 2012. The rocket carried Soyuz Commander Yuri Malenchenko, NASA Flight Engineer Sunita Williams, and Japanese Flight Engineer Akihiko Hoshide. These astronauts will make their way to the International Space Station.

It is crazy to think of how far we have come in just the few short years from the 60’s, when space flight was the dream of all Americans. Now through international cooperation, we have a fully functional space station that orbits the Earth and allows us to do scientific experiments above the planet. The human dream can be so awe inspiring when you sit back to take it all in.

I had a request for a post on life on the International Space Station. This will be my post next week to allow for more time for research.
